Up until this morning, I didn't even know that option existed! I figured there was just the mutual cancellation option, but woke up this morning to find my work rejected.
In my listing, I even have it clearly on there that they do get one revision. So instead of rejecting anything, they could have just asked, "Hey, could you change the features on A and B a bit?" The rejection option just seems like a good way for a buyer to get the final work for free without any say from anyone else. Of course, they were also asking for me to do something that was not a part of my gig at all, and since this happened once before I even have a disclaimer at the top of my gig description saying I DO NOT DO what they are asking.
I hate to cry "unfair to sellers!" but there has been the odd time that I've thought "well this can't be right at all..." and this is one of them.
We receive very little pay for sometimes a lot of work (if the buyer is requesting many changes and you're trying to avoid a negative, even though it's outside of the gig description) but we all know it won't help us when the buyer is being unreasonable and we're not always able to have negative feedback removed without getting the buyer to agree to it. If they were willing to not give a negative, then they wouldn't have in the first place, so what's the point of asking their permission to get rid of it?
In the end it seems ridiculous to do what I sometimes need to do for only $4 or $8. I'm starting to think my time on Fiverr may be coming to an end.
Whoops, this really did turn into a rant.
