I am almost out of time on a gig. the buyer actually followed my instructions to contact me prior to ordering the gig. It's gig to convert PDF files to other format. He sent me a large file with instructions to convert certain pages. The page numbers in the actual scanned pages of the file are different from the page numbers on the PDF itself, so I asked him if he wanted the actual numbers printed on the pages of the file (and I game him the starting and ending text) or if he wanted the PDF page numbers. Turns out he gave me the wrong info, I spent hours converting the wrong pages.
When I delivered the file, he told me the pages were the wrong ones. When I looked at the "right ones" they were from a scan that no software could read. The scan was really bad. I sent him an example of the best output I could do, having tested it with several software packages, and told him that if I had known that these were the pages he wanted I would never have taken the job.
He's now rejected the delivery and I don't know what to do. Should I ask for a mutual cancellation?
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
